Arts & Culture Update from Cuyahoga Falls
After a year of planning and developing a Master Art Plan, the City of Cuyahoga Falls has launched a Public Art Board to lead the initiative for installing public art throughout the city.
According to Community Development Director Diana Colavecchio, the master plan process included extensive community engagement and research into regional and statewide precedents for public art. The collaboration between the City, local artists and Collide: Cuyahoga Falls has been a phenomenal experience with many inspirational ideas.
In the art world itself, there is a growing mindset that there has to be connectivity between marketing, economic development, associations, and government partners. And in Cuyahoga Falls, developing the master plan and working with partners helps bridge that art world and create that connectivity.
