ArtsNow Presents: A Calendar of Community Events

The ArtsNow Presents calendar was created as a method to address the multi-faceted world of public art in Summit County, and we approached the project with two key audiences in mind: artists and community members.

First, we wanted to engage world-class experts. Our first speaker was Director of Monument Lab Paul Farber, who spoke about the past, present, and future of memorializing — including how to bring equity and access to the work of monuments. 

Additionally, Stacy Levy, an environmental artist, joined our local conversation with three separate workshops. She discussed her work and ideas to create art that combines visual beauty, functionality, and interaction with the environment.

We also wanted to engage the top-tier talent in our own backyard from local artists and innovators to muralists and entrepreneurs. 

The Synergy Series, also part of ArtsNow Presents, was our most recent conversation, with a topic diving into the relationship between arts and technology. ArtsNow, Downtown Akron Partnership, local artists, and S3 Technologies addressed the intersection of art, technology, and community development.
