Akron METRO’s Robert K. Pfaff Transit Center features public art exhibition cases for art displays. Located near the Transit Center’s main entrance, the cases offer passengers an opportunity to view the locally made art while waiting for their buses.
Jeremy Jenkins, an Artist in Residence with the Summit County Historical Society of Akron, OH, used the opportunity to showcase illustrations for the Summit County section contribution to the book Glimpses of Ohio’s Counties. The section was co-authored by Stephen Paschen and Leianne Neff Heppner and edited by Alison First and Candy Wolf.
The illustrations are digitally manipulated images selected from the Society collection that serve as both educational and creative displays about the history of transport in Akron and Summit County.
