Akron Civic Theatre's Staging the Future Captial Campaign Exceeds Goal

The Akron Civic Theatre celebrated the completion of its Staging the Future capital campaign with an announcement Friday, April 16th that the nonprofit has raised $9 million to transform the 1929 theater, exceeding its $8.5 million goal.

"We do not view ourselves as an arts and cultural institution, per se. What we view ourselves as is a community and economic development institution that happens to use arts and culture and entertainment to achieve those objectives," - Executive Director Howard Parr.
